Music Educators Symposium

College and University Administrators and Faculty are invited to attend a Music Educators Symposium on Friday February 11th. This Symposium will include classes and lectures on the piano and its place in the college or university.
The concurrent Piano Fair / Concert Series will allow participants to view and sample a diverse product line of pianos and hear some of these instruments in the concert series.
Classes, lectures, concerts, and events will include:
Classes: (Requires Symposium Registration)
Fundraising techniques for developing increased piano inventory at your institution.
Proper piano maintenance guidelines including the comprehensive manual recently developed by the Piano Technicians Guild.
Humidity control, increasing tuning stability and preventing premature damage to your piano inventory.
Open Forum with school administrators, piano faculty and piano technicians
Additional classes to be announced.

Lecture by Ulrich Sauter, President of the European Piano Union
Lecture by Piano Technician Ted Sambell RPT - Tuning for Glenn Gould

Concerts: (free if you pre-register )

Three days of performances in Classical and Jazz featuring pianos represented at the Piano Fair. Artists from Germany, Asia, US, and more.

Piano product presentations by many piano manufacturers from around the globe featuring company presidents and CEO’S
Presentations of new product just arriving into the world market such as the Mason & Hamlin 9’ 3" Concert Grand.
Unique items such as the 97 note one octave microtonal piano from Germany.

The invitation list of Piano Fair attendees includes, but is not limited to, the following: 176 California & additional western states College and University Music Administrators/Faculty, regional California School District Music Administrators/Faculty, the Music Teachers Association of California members and their students, select clients of Sacramento area piano technicians, and more.
